Way Off Topic: Woodturning

So, I've been away from blogging for a bit, wanna know why?  Of course you do.  Well, I've been woodworking as a hobby for several years but a few weeks ago I purchased a mini Jet Wood Lathe.  I've been turning killer bowls and also a few pens.  You can check out the wiki I created for the woodturner community as well as some photos of what I've done.  Enjoy.

Old Exposed Film, Never Seen By Photographer

I was just going through my feeds when I saw this one from Boing Boing.  It's about this guy who prints the photos from old found cameras or exposed film that the photographer would most likely have not seen. Some are found at pawn shops and some he gets from people who find the exposed rolls of film.  It's kinda cool to see something the creater wouldn't have seen.  What's a kick in the pants is this guys commentary about the photos, kinda what my cousins and I do at Christmas when we have to watch the old slides yet again.

Mark Frauenfelder: National Geographic has a live webcam pointed at an African watering hole. Right now (8:52 pm in Africa) the infrared camera isn't picking up any animals getting a late night drink, but you can hear crickets chirping and other animal sounds.

PEAK VIEWING PERIOD: 7 a.m.-Noon Botswana Time



And in September as Mashatu moves into its summer season, Pete's Pond will see increasing traffic in the afternoon hours from about 4-6 p.m.

Life Can Be Better Than Fiction

There are many places on the net to read about the lives of others, some are interesting and some not so interesting.  The most interesting are those that describe a journey personally, it's got this raw strory that is guided that leaves things open for your imagination.
